Trans Associates was retained by the City of Morgantown to perform a traffic study to determine potential improvement scenarios to the University Avenue corridor between Patteson Drive (WV 705) and 8th Street in the Evansdale section of Morgantown to enhance safety, mobility and integration of vehicles, public transit, pedestrians and bicyclists given existing and future travel demand.  TServices included data collection, traffic projections, analyses, development of conceptual plans, report preparation and meeting attendance.

The study contained recommendations including improvements to pedestrian and bicycle traffic, roadway and traffic flow improvements and traffic signal improvements. The traffic signal recommendations included a new signal at University Avenue and Oakland Street, and replacement of the traffic signal at University Avenue and Evansdale Drive/Alumni Drive.
