WVU Medicine Parking & Circulation Study, Morgantown, WV

WVU Medicine retained Trans Associates to evaluate the existing and future parking demand conditions and traffic operations in relation to planned changes and additions to services offered on the campus.

Work tasks included data collection and verification of existing parking facility capacities and permitted users of these facilities. The analyses included a determination of future parking supply with the elimination of existing parking including off-site parking, and relocation of employee, handicap, resident or visitor parking.  Future parking demand was projected based on information on inpatient and outpatient visits based on proposed facilities, and changes in the number of employees, residents, visitors and vendors.

The traffic  analyses focused on specific tasks to determine the operation and efficiency of existing and proposed internal traffic network conditions due to new patient and employee facilities on campus. The final technical report included recommendations to alleviate significant traffic congestion and queuing.
